I have had an amazing experience at Boston University so far. Despite how rigorous BU is known to be, I have felt more than prepared for the work I've been receiving. The Uptown Educational Foundation has been preparing me to be where I am now since my junior year of high school. When I first got accepted to The Uptown Foundation SAT prep course, I was committed to all the coursework and preparation and was able to raise my score up nearly 100 points. The Foundation provided me with multiple Kaplan SAT Prep books, a free online course, free classes and free practice exams. During senior year, I was provided ample assistance on my college applications, my personal statement and college supplements. I went from having no idea what I wanted to write about to being extremely proud of all my essays.

I had help through every draft and my essays would not have been as successful as they were had I not received the help of the Foundation. The Foundation also assisted me with a substantial scholarship that helped me to cover the costs of all my textbooks and school supplies making my transition to freshman year much more financially comfortable.

I think people should contribute to the Foundation because it provides the opportunity for students like me to succeed at top colleges and universities of our choice. I cannot imagine where I would be without the help of the Foundation and would ideally hope that all students could have access to the resources that I was fortunate enough to have.
